Breathe Selby is Selby's largest independently run community website. 

Published from our office close to Selby's town centre, Breathe Selby is tailored to provide our users with more news and information about the town than any of our competitors.

Having started life in March 2000 as Selby Online, we've got more than ten years experience of web publishing in Selby.

We relaunched on March 13, 2010 as Breathe Selby as part of our plan to expand our sites into a network of similar sites in towns and cities across the UK.

Figures for April 2010 show that we served more than 19,000 pages to over 1,400 unique users in our first full month since the relaunch as Breathe Selby.

'Leaderboard' Banner Advertising

Your banner would be added to the pool of potential banners to be displayed when our pages are displayed on users PCs.  Adverts are displayed randomly across the site within the reserved spaces at the top (premium space underneath our logo) and bottom (just above the copyright info) of each page.

'Leaderboard' advertisements measure 728 x 79 pixels as conform to the recognised IAB standard.  Files accepted can be *.gif, *.jpg or flash animations. Design services are available on request.

Between 13/03/10 and 13/04/10, 9,232 IAB Leaderboard (both top and bottom positions) ad units were served across Breathe Selby.

'Medium Rectangle' Content Advertising

Additionally, we offer the popular 'Medium Rectangle' style advertisements which appear within the content zones of most pages on Breathe Selby.  Just like the Leaderboad ads, your advert would be added to the pool of adverts which can be displayed.

'Medium Rectangle' advertisements measure 300 x 250 pixels as conform to the recognised IAB standard.  Files accepted can be *.gif, *.jpg or flash animations. Design services are available on request.

Between 13/03/10 and 13/04/10, 2,249 IAB Medium Rectangle ad units were served across Breathe Selby (excluding home page).

Home Page Textbox Advertising

In addition to the standard advertising options above, we also offer the change to take a 300 x 100 pixel text box on our home page.  This advert would not be shared with other advertisers and can be rented on a weekly basis.

This type of advertising allows for a short title, a body text of upto 25 words and a small (75 x 75 pixel) image.


Between 13/03/10 and 13/04/10, 1,965 Home Page Text ad units were served on our Home Page.

Home Page Banner Advertising

As a premium service, clients can opt to have their Leaderboard and Medium Rectangle adverts appear on our home page only.


Between 13/03/10 and 13/04/10, 1,894 IAB Medium Rectangle ad units were served via the Breathe Selby Home Page. Figures not available for Leaderboard style ads as product is not available until 01/05/10.  Anticipated to be approx 2,000 impressions.

Home Page Takeover

Our takeover product turns all the display advertising space on our home page over to you brand.  Your adverts will be displayed in both leaderboard positions and the Medium Rectangle slot as well.  The page will also feature a branded 'page wrap'.

Page/Section Sponsorship

With the exception of our news section, all areas of the site are available for sponsorship.  A clients sponsorship message will appear to the right of the page/section title.  This can be either textual or your company's logo.
